First Impressions
The Track Hx10 turns heads with its striking Blue and Silver hybrid design. Inside works the modified symmetric Face Core, which shows a 2.500 RG and a moderate 0.043 differential. For the surface, Track relies on the DR-6 Hybrid Reactive cover, brought to a light high gloss out of the box with 500, 1000 Siaair and Factory Finish Polish. These specs should make the ball start up in controlled fashion and glide through the heads extremely safely on medium lanes. The cover offers the perfect mix of length and steady hook.
Comparison
Compared directly with the Track Hx16, the Hx10 shows noticeably smoother ball motion, delivers less traction in the midlane and a much more controlled, more symmetric reaction at the breakpoint. Next to the Storm Hy-Road, the Hx10 offers a comparably calm, steady hook thanks to its hybrid cover. When the transition changes the lane and dry spots appear, the lightly scuffed but polished surface keeps the ball from jumping off the breakpoint uncontrollably. It reacts sharply, but predictably.
On the Lanes
The Track Hx10 is most at home on dried-up and medium lane conditions. It's an outstanding option if you're looking for a clean and predictable ball motion once the lanes have been played on heavily. The core creates a clear angle at the breakpoint, which builds confidence when playing direct lines. The ball should ensure carry through its steady entry into the pocket. On very fresh, heavy patterns, however, it lacks pure power.
