The DV8 Hooligan Taunt stands out with an extremely bright pink and purple pearl look. Inside works the strong symmetrical Hooligan Core, which features a 2.522 RG and a moderate 0.043 differential. For the cover, DV8 relies on the Class 5G Pearl Cover, polished to a high gloss out of the box with 500 Siaair and Royal Compound. These specs should make the ball get into its move extremely late and skid safely through the heads on dry lanes. The cover and the core offer the perfect mix of length and control in the backend.
Comparison
Compared directly to the DV8 Hooligan, the Taunt version shows noticeably longer ball motion, delivers less traction in oil and a somewhat more angular reaction at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Match Pearl, the Hooligan Taunt offers a comparably pronounced but minimally rounder hook thanks to its slightly stronger core design. When transition changes the lane and dry spots appear, the smooth surface keeps the ball from wasting energy at the breakpoint. It reacts with enormous power.
On the Lanes
The DV8 Hooligan Taunt is most at home on dried-up to medium lane conditions. It's an excellent option if you're looking for a clean and angular ball motion when the lanes are heavily played. The symmetrical core creates an extremely clean angle at the breakpoint, which builds confidence when playing deeper lines. The ball should secure carry through its late entry into the pocket. On very fresh patterns, however, it slides through.
