First Impressions
The DV8 Heckler comes in a striking black/orange/purple color combination that makes it instantly recognizable. As a new addition to the DV8 family, it was developed specifically for no-thumb and two-handed players. At the heart of the Heckler works the innovative asymmetric Unholy core with numbers of 2.50 RG and 0.51 differential at an intermediate differential of 0.10. This construction follows the successful concept of the Trouble Maker series, but has now been developed further in asymmetric form to be tailored specifically to oily lane conditions. The cover is the reactive HC 22 coverstock with Cohesion and Maximum Havoc additives, polished to 500/2000 Siaair Micro Pad. With a hook rating of 355 and a length rating of 130, the ball should show a strong midlane reaction and a powerful backend. The recommended conditions fall in the range of medium to heavy oil.

Comparison
In direct comparisons, the Heckler proves to be a clearly stronger ball than its predecessors. Placed side by side with the Motiv Subzero Forge and the Motiv Pride Liberty, the Heckler shows an earlier and stronger roll phase. To get the same pocket motion as with the Subzero Forge, you have to start about eight boards further inside with the Heckler — a clear indication of the ball's enormous hook potential. The Xcel from Roto Grip gets into a skid longer than the Heckler and offers more angle from the breakpoint to the pocket. That is surprising, since the Xcel has a higher intermediate differential, which underlines the value of practical observation over pure number comparisons. Compared to the Hammer Effect Tour, the Heckler appears less smooth in its motion, but with similar asymmetry numbers. The shape of the Heckler closely resembles the original Trouble Maker, but offers considerably more strength — about "two zones stronger" than the original Trouble Maker.
