First Impressions
The Radical Guru Master immediately catches the eye with its deep black and red solid design. At its center works the massive asymmetric Guru core, which shows a 2.501 RG, a strong 0.052 differential and a 0.018 intermediate differential. This core is wrapped in an extremely strong solid reactive coverstock finished at 500 and 1500 Siaair. This combination of asymmetric core and rough cover should make the ball plow through the heads extremely reliably and develop a very strong, early roll phase in the oil.
Comparison
Compared directly to the original Radical Guru, the Guru Master offers noticeably more early traction through the heads and a far steadier reaction on extremely heavy boards. Put up against a ball like the Storm Alpha Crux, the Guru Master shows a similarly powerful asymmetric kick. Once transition sets in over the course of a set, the heavy solid shell tends to give up energy extremely early. It is a specialist for very high volume.
On the Lanes
This ball is a pure specialist for heavy oil patterns. It is the perfect choice for the first game on house leagues or long tournament patterns. You benefit from the fact that the ball never slides through the deep oil, but instead plays out the asymmetric core perfectly. The core should maximize carry through a strong hit into the pocket. As soon as the lane dries up, however, the Guru Master has to be swapped out, since it loses its energy immediately.
