BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Ebonite Game Breaker 4 Pearl, released in February 2022, extends one of the most reliable lines in bowling. Visually the ball comes in an attractive color mix of ruby, smoke and white, which the glossy surface ("Compound Finish") shows off especially well. The technical heart is the legendary Enhanced V2 Core. With a low 2.48 RG and a solid 0.048 differential (at 15 lbs), this symmetrical core delivers the early, stable revving up the line is known for. The cover is the GB 12.0 Pearl Reactive coverstock, finished out of the box with 500/1000/1500 Siaair and Crown Factory Compound. This combination promises to pair the famous Game Breaker motion with more length and backend reaction.
Comparison Within the Ebonite lineup, the GB4 Pearl is the perfect complement to the Game Breaker 4 Solid. Where the solid reads early and smooths out the lane, the pearl version glides through the heads noticeably more easily and saves more energy for a sharper move at the end of the pattern. It is not an extreme "skid-flip" ball, though. Compared to a Storm Hy-Road, the GB4 Pearl reads the midlane noticeably earlier due to the lower RG (2.48 vs 2.57) and feels more stable, but offers a bit less angle on the backend. A fitting outside comparison is the Roto Grip Hyped Pearl: both balls target the mid-performance segment, with the GB4 Pearl often showing a little more overall hook and more authority in oil thanks to the stronger core.
On the Lanes The Game Breaker 4 Pearl is an ideal benchmark ball for typical house shots and medium oil conditions. Its biggest strength lies in the transition phase: when stronger balls with rough surfaces (like the GB4 Solid or a Polaris) start to lose energy too early or hook in the heads, this ball is the answer. It comes through the burned-up heads cleanly, but thanks to the V2 core it still reads the middle of the lane securely enough not to overreact to oil. It is excellent for league bowlers looking for a ball that forgives mistakes and delivers a predictable yet strong move to the pocket. It generates good carry by keeping the angle controllable.
