BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The DV8 Frequency brings both a new coverstock and a new core shape to the DV8 high performance line. The new Adversary weight block is an asymmetric design with low RG and medium differential. The Frequency is wrapped in the new Flexure coverstock. With specs of 2.476 RG and a 0.047 differential (15 lb ball), it shows a balanced asymmetric profile. This ball introduces the Adversary core, wrapped in the Flexure Hybrid Reactive coverstock. The surface comes finished at the factory with 500 / 2000 Siaair Micro Pad. The Frequency features Durability Optimization Technology (DOT), a patented process in bowling ball technology, as well as the innovative DynamiCore outer core technology.
Comparison
Compared to the DV8 Notorious, the Frequency shows noticeably more hook potential and a stronger move off the backend. If you play the Frequency from the same position as the Notorious, it makes a beeline to the left side of the headpin, so the changes in coverstock and core design result in a ball with more total hook and a stronger downlane move. It can be used either as a first-ball option on fresh conditions or as an alternative when the DV8 Verge or Frequency reacts too strongly. The Frequency should provide enough hook through the oil while still offering a strong move off the backend, and it proved very versatile, though it looked best on the medium oil pattern.
On the Lanes
This ball should deliver the ideal amounts of hook, traction and length on medium oil conditions. The 500/2000 SiaAir sanded hybrid surface should let you open up your angles and see plenty of downlane recovery, with the changes in coverstock and core design giving this ball more total hook and a stronger move off the backend. As a versatile asymmetric ball, it suits most playing styles. Once you stand far enough left with your feet, the Frequency should offer plenty of room for error on this pattern, and its matte 500/2000 SiaAir box surface handles the oil volume easily. With a maximum hook performance rating, it is designed for medium to heavy oil conditions.
