The Storm Extreme Fire Road arrives as an exclusive international release in an extremely eye-catching pearl color blend. At the center of this model sits the asymmetric-looking but officially symmetric Inverted Fe3 core, which carries a high 2.560 RG and a strong 0.050 differential. The outer layer consists of the high-performance R2X Pearl Reactive coverstock, polished to a high gloss out of the box. This combination of a very strong engine and a smooth pearl shell should let the ball glide through the heads very safely and deliver a very strong, angular roll phase.
Comparison
Compared to the original Storm Fire Road with its R2S Pearl cover, the Extreme Fire Road grabs noticeably more aggressively at the breakpoint thanks to the R2X cover and offers a considerably more stable, sharper reaction. Next to the Storm Hy-Road Pearl, the Extreme Fire Road produces a much more penetrating motion. Once the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, this ball benefits enormously from its pearl shell. It wants friction in order to carry its dynamics into the pins without overreacting.
On the Lanes
The Storm Extreme Fire Road finds its preferred home on medium lane conditions. It is the perfect choice if you need a ball on broken-down patterns that slides easily through the heads and generates a steady, massive hook toward the pocket. The strong reaction helps you avoid missing the breakpoint. The ball should maximize carry through a powerful drive. On extremely heavy oil, however, this ball can come up short on traction because of the polished cover.
