The technical foundation of this model is a dynamic symmetrical core with a 2.53 RG and a notably high differential of 0.052. An RG value of 2.53 sits solidly in the middle of the range and physically ensures that the core does not act in an extremely early-rolling manner, but instead builds up rotational energy in a well-measured way at first. This allows the ball to travel cleanly through the heads without excessive energy loss before the actual work phase begins in the midlane. The high differential of 0.052 generates strong track flare. This means the ball moves on a fresh axis with every revolution and constantly brings unused surface into contact with the lane. This core is wrapped in the specially developed Gamma TRX-NF8 Reactive Solid cover. This coverstock ships from the factory with a 4000 grit matte finish. The combination of a reactive solid material and a matte finish is specifically designed to find maximum traction even in more demanding oil volumes and to guarantee an extremely readable, predictable ball motion without sliding down the lane.

Both balls rely on the proven combination of a symmetrical core and a solid cover to deliver an even, dependable reaction on medium to heavy oil patterns. The decisive difference lies in the core numbers. With its considerably lower 2.48 RG, the Storm Phaze II reads the lane noticeably earlier and brings the ball into a strong roll phase shortly after it leaves the hand. The Jet Bowling Extreme Altitude uses its higher 2.53 RG to skid a bit longer down the lane before the traction fully kicks in. On the Lanes
In practical use, the Jet Bowling Extreme Altitude plays to its strengths primarily on fresh, medium to heavily oiled lane conditions. Thanks to the matte surface and the tacky solid cover, the ball practically digs its way through the oil and eliminates the risk of an uncontrolled slide across the front boards. As soon as the ball reaches the end of the oil pattern and hits friction, it does not react in an extremely jumpy or angular fashion. Instead it develops an extremely strong, very round and continuous hook that works its way reliably into the pocket. This predictable motion makes it an excellent choice if you are looking for maximum control and stability on the fresh pattern. If you have a fairly low ball speed or a flat release, you benefit immensely from the traction, since the ball stands up securely. At the same time, athletes with high rev rates will appreciate the rounded shape on the backend, since the ball does not overshoot the breakpoint. Through the steady release of energy into the pins, excellent carry should be generated, optimizing the pinfall rate. However, once the transition sets in noticeably over the course of a longer tournament and the oil has been carried off the front part of the lane, the matte solid cover could grab too early and lose energy before impact. In that scenario, a move to weaker cover materials is advisable. For starting out on an untouched pattern, though, the Jet Bowling Extreme Altitude presents itself as an absolutely reliable and strong tool.
