First Impressions
The Dynamic Swing Pearl comes in a color scheme similar to the original Dynamic Swing, with a combination of copper, white and smoke, but with pearl added to all of the colors and a polished finish. The ball shares the asymmetric Modified Full Swing core with DOT and DynamiCore technology with the Dynamic Swing. The specs show a 2.482 RG, a 0.047 differential and a 0.012 intermediate differential at 15 pounds. Flare potential is rated medium-high. The ERT Pearl coverstock is polished out of the box with 500/1000/1500 Siaair and Crown Factory Compound, which gives the ball its characteristic length.
Comparison
Compared directly to the original Dynamic Swing, the Pearl is noticeably longer and more angular. While the color scheme is similar, the ERT Pearl surface with 1500 Siaair and Crown Factory Compound produces a more angular shape than the original. The Dynamic Swing Pearl offers less overall hook than the Dynamic Swing, but more angle off the backend. If you've missed the pronounced backend reaction of older Swing releases like the Pure Swing, you'll find a more similar motion in the Dynamic Swing Pearl. Against stronger balls like the Columbia 300 Authority, it is less aggressive through the midlane. Rev-dominant bowlers use it successfully when balls like the Chaos Black, Spoiler and Eruption Pearl no longer clear the corners.
On the Lanes
The Dynamic Swing Pearl should provide length on medium to heavy oil conditions and deliver an impressive sideways reaction. It fits stroker styles very well on fresh medium house shot patterns and offers enough friction in the midlane to keep it from over-skidding in the oil. The ball should glide through the heads without any trouble and without showing early hook, storing plenty of energy for the backend, and it is very forgiving on missed shots. If you have a lower rev rate, it gives you the option to play farther left and still get enough backend reaction for adequate carry. It has proven itself in various bowling centers when playing deeper, and is particularly suited to situations where more aggressive hybrids grab too early.
