First Impressions
The 900 Global Drift stands out with its exciting color combination and a high-performance package. It is driven by the symmetric Hula core, which carries a 2.540 RG and a strong 0.054 differential. The coverstock is S62 Hybrid, finished with a 1500-grit polish. These specs mark the Drift as an extremely versatile ball. The polished hybrid cover combined with the strong symmetric core should let the ball clear the heads cleanly while generating a sharp, continuous move in the backend.
Comparison Compared to the 900 Global Inception, the Drift offers noticeably more length through the heads thanks to its symmetric core and polished cover, along with a later but snappier reaction. Against the Storm Hy-Road, which also uses a hybrid cover, the Drift produces a somewhat stronger overall hook due to its higher differential. Once the transition sets in and more friction develops on the lane, the Drift is in its element. It provides the stability needed to conserve energy on the dried-up boards for a powerful backend move.
On the Lanes The 900 Global Drift was built for medium lane conditions. It allows you to play steeper angles across the boards after the pattern has broken down initially, without the ball burning up too early. The strong symmetric core should keep enough backend reaction in the ball to deliver excellent carry and a stable hit into the pocket. On extremely heavy oil patterns, however, the polished surface lacks the bite needed to navigate the pattern reliably.
