First Impressions
The 900 Global Dream shows up in an extremely menacing red and blue pearl color blend. At the heart of this model beats the asymmetric Identity core, which features a low 2.480 RG, a strong 0.054 differential and a moderate intermediate differential. The outer layer consists of the high-traction 74 Pearl Reactive coverstock, brought to a high shine at the factory with a 1500-grit polish. This combination of a strong core and the smooth surface should let the ball skid very safely and deliver a massive, sharp roll phase.
Comparison
Compared to the 900 Global Dream Big, the original Dream offers noticeably less early traction thanks to its pearl cover, along with a far more angular reaction in the dry. Against the Storm Snap Lock, the Dream delivers similarly massive midlane control, but with extremely strong asymmetric snap at the breakpoint. When friction on the lane increases and transition dries up the front part of the lane, this ball reacts very aggressively, though it loses some energy. It is a strong pearl.
On the Lanes
The 900 Global Dream is best suited to lane conditions with medium to high oil volume. For strokers and tweeners it offers the option of playing deeper lines on broken-in patterns, since the surface finds little traction in the heads. The steady drive toward the pocket should deliver convincing carry, as the ball rolls heavily through the pin deck. Once the lane is extremely wet, however, the ball can slide through. In those situations a dull cover is the better choice.
