BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
With the Swag Dragon Cotton Candy Poly, February 2026 sees the successful Dragon series expanded with a visually striking variant. The design stands out with a vibrant color combination of pink, blue and white that lives up to the Cotton Candy name and makes the ball's rotation highly visible on the lane. Technically, this is a classic polyester ball developed primarily for spare shooting. Inside the ball sits a traditional pancake core that keeps instability to a minimum. At 15 lbs, the specs include a high RG of 2.690 and an extremely low differential of just 0.006. These numbers are characteristic of balls that are not meant to develop any motion of their own. The surface is a high-gloss polished polyester material designed to minimize friction as much as possible. Thanks to this cover, the ball glides through the heads almost unaffected and holds its speed all the way to the pin deck. The material is also known for its hardness and durability, which should increase longevity when hitting single pins head-on.
Comparison Compared to other spare options on the market, such as the Storm Ice or the Brunswick TZone, the Swag Dragon Cotton Candy Poly shows identical functional characteristics. While many manufacturers use similar pancake cores in their spare balls, this Swag model sets itself apart primarily through the chemical consistency of the surface, which aims to absorb less oil than conventional entry-level models even after extended use. Compared to the Columbia 300 White Dot, the Dragon offers equally reliable directional stability on dry boards. A key difference shows up against modern urethane balls like the Hammer Black Widow Pink Urethane: while urethane balls describe a controlled arc when there is corresponding friction in the backend, the Dragon Cotton Candy Poly refuses any hook at all. Even on patterns with extremely little oil or pronounced transition, the change of direction stays minimal compared to a Storm Mix. That makes it a specialized tool that clearly separates itself from reactive balls, which would still show some reaction in the pocket even in their weakest form.
On the Lanes Practical use of the Swag Dragon Cotton Candy Poly focuses almost exclusively on precisely picking off single pins or difficult splits. On corner pins in particular, like the ten (for righties) or the seven (for lefties), the cover's low friction allows a path that runs completely independent of the oil pattern. You can play across a lot of boards without having to worry about the ball grabbing too early in the dry part of the lane and missing the pocket or the target pin. During transition, when the heads have already been played in and reactive balls react unpredictably, this ball provides the security your spare system needs. Another application is on extremely dry lanes in recreational centers, where even the weakest performance balls would generate too much hook. Here the Dragon Cotton Candy Poly can be repurposed as a strike ball to play a straight line directly into the pocket. By nature of the design, carry is lower than with core-driven balls, since energy transfer comes purely from speed and entry angle. For ambitious tournament players, this ball is an essential addition to the arsenal to increase the margin for error when shooting spares and to secure consistency across multiple games.
