First Impressions
The DV8 Diva XOXO stands out with its bright pink and silver pearl design, which is impossible to miss on the lane. The heart of this model is the symmetrical Diva Core, characterized by a 2.516 RG and a strong 0.052 differential. The cover is the Composite Pearl coverstock, polished to a high gloss out of the box with 500 Siaair and Royal Compound. The moderate RG lets the core rotate reliably, and the smooth pearl cover should let the ball generate a lot of length through the heads and turn the corner extremely sharply and aggressively at the breakpoint.
Comparison
Compared to the DV8 Diva Divine, the Diva XOXO gets into a roll noticeably later thanks to its pearl cover and offers a much more aggressive flip off the backend. Against a reactive ball like the Storm Hy-Road Pearl, the Diva XOXO delivers greater flare potential and an even sharper hook. Once the transition sets in and dry spots develop on the lane, the Diva XOXO plays to all of its strengths. It makes optimal use of the friction on the boards to generate a massive, sudden change of direction.
On the Lanes
The DV8 Diva XOXO is extremely effective on medium to slightly dried-up lane conditions. It allows you to play deep inside the boards, since the ball reacts reliably and aggressively at the breakpoint. The sharp drive toward the pocket should produce strong carry by generating a very steep entry angle. On freshly oiled, longer patterns, however, the smooth pearl cover does not burn off enough energy in the oil, which can lead to shots sliding through the front and weak hits.
