First Impressions
The AMF Decimate stands out in a classy blue and black solid look that's built for pure performance. Inside, the symmetrical F74 core works with a low 2.480 RG and a strong 0.054 differential. For the cover, AMF relies on a solid reactive coverstock finished at 4000 grit out of the box. This combination of a very early-revving core and a high-friction shell should let the ball dominate the heads effortlessly while saving its energy for a moderate kick in the backend.
Comparison
Compared directly to the AMF Unreal, the Decimate is marginally weaker in the heads and offers an extremely tame backend motion due to its symmetrical core. Against the Storm Phaze II, the Decimate delivers very similar length and builds an almost identical, smooth hook at the breakpoint. When friction on the lane is high and transition dries up the front part of the lane, the Decimate conserves its energy very well and makes a moderate move without any wild jumps.
On the Lanes
The AMF Decimate is best suited to lane conditions with medium oil volume. For strokers and bowlers with moderate ball speed, it offers the option of playing direct lines, since the cover saves energy. The smooth drive toward the pocket should provide solid carry. On fresh, extremely heavy oil, however, this ball may lack traction because of the matte finish and react too flat.
