BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Radical Cyclops Pearl, released in September 2017, adds a shiny, more length-oriented option alongside the original Cyclops. Cosmetically, the ball comes in a smoky combination of Black, Smoke and Purple Pearl. Inside works the proven Spindle Symmetric Core, the same one used in the original model. With a 2.54 RG and a strong 0.048 differential (at 15 lbs), this core delivers noticeably more power than you would typically expect in this price range. While the RG allows for easy glide through the heads, the high differential guarantees plenty of flare potential at the end of the pattern. The cover is a pearl version of the proven Radical chemistry and comes out of the box with a 500 Siaair, Crown Factory Compound and Crown Factory Polish finish. This mirror-smooth surface signals right away that the ball is built to conserve energy and make an aggressive change of direction at the breakpoint.
Comparison
Compared directly to the original Radical Cyclops (solid/hybrid), the pearl version shows a noticeably later reaction on the lane. While the original Cyclops was known for reading the midlane very dependably and making a controlled move, the Cyclops Pearl slides effortlessly through that zone and reacts almost exclusively to the dry friction in the backend. Compared to the Radical Tremendous Pearl, the Cyclops Pearl is a logical step-down: it offers somewhat less overall hook and is easier to control once the lane dries up. Against a competitor like the Storm Match Up Pearl, the Cyclops Pearl stands out with its considerably higher differential (0.048 vs. 0.035). That means the Radical ball reacts more dynamically and more strongly at the breakpoint, while the Match Up Pearl shows a smoother, flatter motion. So it offers more bang for the buck in terms of backend motion than many other symmetrical balls in its class.
On the Lanes
The Radical Cyclops Pearl is an excellent choice for typical house shots and medium to lighter oil conditions. Its strength lies in the transition phase, when the lane starts to break down and dull or strong balls lose energy too early. Thanks to the polished pearl surface, it ignores the already played-in heads and saves its rotation for the hit into the pocket. It's ideal if you like to throw the ball a bit farther outside and need to trust that it will come back, without being as unpredictable as some asymmetrical skid/flip balls. The high flare potential also brings fresh cover material to the surface, which improves carry even with light carrydown. It is less suited to fresh, longer oil, where it would slide too far.
