BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Motiv Covert Tank comes in a plain black design with dark gray NeoMark Graphics and relies on a revolutionary coverstock technology. The Frixion Microcell Polymer cover is neither traditional urethane nor reactive resin, but a microcell polymer. The ball features the symmetrical Torx core with a 2.50 RG, a 0.051 differential and an intermediate differential of 0.000 at 15 pounds. The surface comes out of the box at 2000 grit LSS, which should produce an early ball reaction. The Torx core is a lower RG, higher differential symmetrical design that offers about five inches of flare potential and was previously used in the Forza series. Comparison
The motion the Covert Tank creates fills the gap between balls like the previous Tanks and balls like the Motiv Freestyle Rush and Motiv Thrill. Compared to the Motiv Venom Shock, the Covert Tank starts up almost as early, but the Venom Shock shows considerably more hook in the backend phase. While the Motiv Tank Rampage revs up nicely and reaches a similar midlane spot, the Covert Tank differs in the backend phase and picks up where the Tank Rampage stops or slows down. The Hammer Purple Pearl Urethane and Storm Fever Pitch also try to fit into this gap, but the hit was rated as exceptional compared to urethane and even to the Fever Pitch. On the Lanes
The Covert Tank is recommended for lighter oil conditions and was best suited for bowlers on drier oil patterns, with tweeners and strokers able to get the ball through the pins without trouble. On short or light oil conditions you can play straighter longer, while the ball should offer plenty of value especially on house conditions. Where typical urethane balls are mainly used by players with a high rev rate, the Covert Tank is a more versatile piece that should support more styles of play, since it combines the new microcell polymer cover with a strong Torx weight block. The ball allows miss room to the right with recovery and should carry extremely well, which makes it an interesting tool if you have struggled with traditional urethane.
