First Impressions
The Radical Conspiracy Scheme, released in March 2022, immediately catches the eye with its solid-color purple shell. Unlike many multicolored balls, this design comes across as almost monolithic and focused. Technically, Radical combines proven elements with new updates here: inside spins the familiar Conspiracy Asymmetric Core, which delivers very strong engine numbers with a 2.487 RG and a 0.056 differential (at 15 lbs) plus a 0.021 intermediate differential. The cover is new: the MOtion Magic Solid coverstock is used here, though finished out of the box with 500 Siaair and Crown Factory Compound. In addition, DynamiCore technology has been integrated into the outer core to maximize hitting power on the pins (carry).
Comparison Compared directly to the original Radical Conspiracy (Solid), the Scheme is noticeably longer and cleaner through the heads thanks to the factory polish (compound), but it still reads the midlane very reliably because of the strong core. It's a modern, slightly longer version of the original with better pin carry. Looking outside the brand, the ball reaction is reminiscent of a Roto Grip RST X-2. Both balls use a strong asymmetric core under a shiny surface to pair length with a strong finishing move. Compared to a pure control ball like the Hammer Obsession Tour, the Conspiracy Scheme offers considerably more overall hook and backend dynamics, but stays more rounded than typical skid/flip balls.
On the Lanes The Conspiracy Scheme occupies an interesting niche: it's a "solid with shine." That makes it the perfect weapon for the transition, when pure, dull solids start rolling too early but pearl balls are still too sensitive to oil. It gets through the first few feet of the lane (heads) effortlessly, but digs in on medium-heavy oil without sliding through. This lets you play deeper angles without losing control of the breakpoint. It's especially effective on house shots where you need traction in the midlane but have to save enough energy for the outside boards. The surface also responds excellently to adjustment: hit with a 2000 pad, it turns into a full-blown snow tire for heavy oil.
