BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Columbia 300 Command comes in an eye-catching Smoke, Yellow and Silver color scheme and was introduced in 2021 as the new star in the Columbia 300 high-performance series. Technically, the ball is built around the asymmetric Movement core with a 2.513 inch RG, a 0.053 inch differential and an intermediate differential of 0.021 inch. The cover consists of the newly developed A.R.S. (Angular Reaction System) Pearl coverstock and comes out of the box with a 500 Siaair/Crown Factory Compound finish. This combination of a strong asymmetric pearl should deliver excellent midlane reaction and continuation.
Comparison
The Command was designed specifically to create more motion from a shiny pearl than any other ball Columbia 300 had released up to that point. Compared to the later Storm Phaze II Pearl, the Command shows a different ball motion - while the Storm Phaze II Pearl with its symmetric Velocity core offers a more predictable and controlled backend, the Columbia 300 Command with its asymmetric Movement core should deliver a more aggressive backend reaction. Within its own product family, the Command positions itself as the more versatile alternative to the Columbia 300 Authority Solid, offering a smoother midlane reaction with stronger continuation. The ball is very rolly for a pearl and does not overreact on the backend, which sets it apart from typical skid/flip balls.
On the Lanes
The Command is designed for medium to heavy oil conditions and shows a pronounced skid/flip characteristic. The ball shows its strengths especially on long or flat patterns, above all on fresh lane conditions. Its ability to skid through the heads and still retain energy on the backend makes it a valuable tool if you need length but don't want to give up backend power. On sport patterns like the 1:1 Red Square Pattern or the 47-foot Paris Pattern, the ball has proven to be a reliable pocket finder. Its smooth motion through the lane combined with sufficient energy on the backend makes it a versatile ball for various player types looking for a controlled yet powerful pearl.
