BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
Released in June 2022 as an international (overseas) release, the 900 Global Burner Hybrid fills the gap in the popular Burner series. Visually, the ball usually appears in a striking "orange/gold" color scheme (sometimes combined with blue), which clearly sets it apart from the solid and pearl versions on the shelf. Technically it is based on the proven platform of the series: at its center spins the Centroid Symmetric Core with a 2.53 RG and a 0.037 differential (at 15 lbs). These core numbers are somewhat stronger than those of typical entry-level balls, which provides more dynamics. This engine is paired with the S62 Hybrid Reactive coverstock. Unlike the original Burner balls, which were often polished, this release was generally shipped with a 4K-Fast Finish (or a similar fine texture) in order to support the balance between length and traction of the hybrid cover as well as possible.
Comparison
The 900 Global Burner Hybrid positions itself exactly between its siblings. Compared to the 900 Global Burner Pearl, the hybrid reads the lane a bit earlier in the midlane and is not quite as jumpy at the breakpoint. It comes across as more controlled and smooths out the reaction where the pearl reacts too sensitively to oil lines. Against the 900 Global Burner Solid, the hybrid offers noticeably more length through the heads and stores more energy for impact, but it is not as strong in oil. Drawing the comparison to the Roto Grip Hustle USA (also a hybrid), the Burner Hybrid comes across as somewhat stronger and more rev-friendly thanks to the Centroid core. It generates a bit more flare than the Hustle series, but stays below the strength of a 900 Global Zen Gold Label or Storm Hy-Road.
On the Lanes
This ball is an outstanding tool for medium to light oil conditions. Its hybrid nature makes it extremely versatile, especially when the lane conditions get "tricky." It is often the better choice over a pure pearl when you run into wet/dry conditions (dry outside boards, oily middle), because the solid content in the cover helps settle the ball down in the pocket without losing the aggressive change of direction. It is perfectly suited as a "transition ball": when stronger balls start to roll out too early and lose energy, the Burner Hybrid lets you keep moving further inside without the ball sliding through the breakpoint. For beginners it is an ideal first performance ball, and for tournament players an important weapon for late squads on broken-down lanes.
