The 900 Global Break Down draws every eye with its striking orange and blue hybrid design. Inside works the symmetrical Break Asymmetric core, which shows more moderate dynamics in this configuration. For the cover, 900 Global relies on the S70 Hybrid Reactive coverstock, lightly dulled out of the box with a 4000 grit finish. These specs should make the ball start up under control and skid safely through the heads on medium lanes. The cover offers the perfect mix of hold in the midlane and a steady roll phase.
Comparison
Compared directly with the 900 Global Black Ops, the Break Down shows noticeably smoother ball motion, delivers more traction in the midlane and a much more controlled reaction at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Rocket, the Break Down offers a comparably calm, steady hook thanks to its hybrid cover. When transition changes the lane and dry spots appear, the lightly scuffed surface keeps the ball from jumping off the breakpoint uncontrollably. It reacts sharply, but very predictably.
On the Lanes
The 900 Global Break Down is most at home on dried-up and medium lane conditions. It is an excellent option if you are looking for clean and predictable ball motion once the lanes are well played in. The core creates a clear angle at the breakpoint, which builds confidence when playing direct lines. The ball should secure carry through its steady entry into the pocket. On very fresh, heavy patterns, however, it lacks pure power.
