First Impressions
The 900 Global Boo-Yah comes in a classic black solid design that signals absolute control. The heart of this model is the symmetric Y-Core, which is characterized by a high 2.560 RG and a low 0.020 differential. The cover is a pure solid urethane, sanded to a 1000 grit Abralon finish out of the box. The core design generates extremely little flare, while the urethane shell should make the ball read strong and extremely smooth through the heads without ever turning sharply at the breakpoint. It is the master of short oil patterns.
Comparison
Compared to the Storm Pitch Black, the Boo-Yah picks up almost identically early in the midlane and offers exactly the same smooth, arcing change of direction at the breakpoint. Against any reactive solid, the Boo-Yah delivers zero real kick off the backend. As soon as transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, the Boo-Yah's urethane shell pushes the oil down the lane (carrydown) and defuses the friction. It is predictable like no other ball on the market.
On the Lanes
The 900 Global Boo-Yah finds its preferred use on extremely short, flat sport patterns. It is the logical choice if you need a ball on patterns with little room for error that doesn't create an aggressive hook. The extremely smooth reaction helps you find the pocket even on the heaviest short oil. The ball should maximize carry through a direct hit. On longer house patterns, however, this ball is far too weak and hits flat into the pins.
