The Pyramid Blueprint Pearl Project 1.618 shows up in an extremely classy blue and silver pearl color combination. At the heart of this model beats the asymmetric SG 19.5 Asymmetric Motor, which carries a 2.490 RG, a solid 0.050 differential and a high 0.020 intermediate differential. The outer layer consists of the GPS Navigational Pearl coverstock, heavily polished to a high gloss out of the box. This combination of an early-rolling, highly asymmetric core and the smooth surface should have the ball creating an extreme amount of length while delivering a very radical, strong backend reaction.
Comparison
Compared to the Pyramid Pathogen, the Blueprint Pearl Project 1.618 offers noticeably less early traction, but a far more aggressive asymmetric backend reaction. Next to the Storm Code Blue SP, the Blueprint Pearl delivers an extremely similar, sharp change of direction. As friction on the lane increases and the transition dries up the front part of the lane, this ball reacts with a lot of bite. It stores its energy exceptionally well and releases it explosively. The hook is angular and asymmetric.
On the Lanes
The Pyramid Blueprint Pearl Project 1.618 is best suited to lane conditions with medium oil volume. If you are a stroker or a tweener, it gives you the option to play deep lines on fresh or slightly broken-down patterns, since the surface finds no hold in the heads. The steady drive toward the pocket should deliver convincing carry, as the ball keeps rolling continuously through the pin deck. Once the lane is heavily oiled, however, the ball can slide through. In those situations a dull cover is strictly advisable.
