BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Hammer Black Widow Red Legend shows up in an extremely bright red pearl color blend. At the heart of this model beats the famous asymmetric Gas Mask Core, which carries a 2.500 RG, an extreme 0.058 differential and a 0.016 intermediate differential. The outer layer consists of the Juiced Pearl Reactive coverstock, polished to a high gloss out of the box. This combination of an extremely strong asymmetric engine and the smooth surface should let the ball glide very securely through the heads and build a massive, asymmetric flip in the backend.
Comparison
Compared to the Hammer Black Widow Red Legend Solid, the pearl version grabs drastically later and offers a steadier, cleaner skid phase along with a far more angular reaction at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Crux Pearl, the Red Legend produces a much more controlled but similarly explosive motion. Once the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, the pearl cover is enormously strong. It demands friction at the breakpoint to translate the asymmetric dynamics into the pins without hooking too early.
On the Lanes
The Hammer Black Widow Red Legend finds its preferred territory on medium to slightly dried-up lane conditions. It's the perfect choice if you need a ball on broken-down patterns that slides easily through the heads and generates a huge hook toward the pocket. The late reaction helps when playing deeper lines. The ball should secure carry through its massive drive. On extremely heavy, fresh oil, however, this ball is often too weak in traction.
