First Impressions
Released in June 2022, the Brunswick Attitude brings an exciting dynamic to the symmetrical performance segment. Visually it stands out with its fresh "Aqua/Silver/Black" color scheme. Technically, the ball is built around the Contra Core, a symmetrical core with a very low RG of 2.474 and a strong differential of 0.047 (at 15 lbs). These core numbers are quite aggressive for a pearl ball and ensure that the ball is set into rotation extremely quickly. This rev-happy engine is paired with the Activator Plus 3.0 Pearl Reactive coverstock. The surface is polished to a high gloss out of the box with Crown Factory Compound. This configuration creates a fascinating contrast: the polish and the pearl shell provide effortless skid through the heads, while the core's low RG value forces the ball to rev up earlier in the midlane than typical skid-flip balls.
Comparison
The most important comparison is to the Brunswick Attitude Control, released at the same time. While the Control is a urethane ball for early control, the standard Attitude is a true reactive ball for length and backend motion. Compared to the Brunswick Melee Jab Midnight Blue, which targets a similar audience, the Attitude reads the lane a touch earlier thanks to its even lower RG value (2.474 vs 2.487), which makes it seem somewhat more stable and less jumpy at the breakpoint. Against a strong solid like the Brunswick Knock Out Bruiser, the Attitude offers considerably more length and a sharper change of direction. It behaves similarly to a Storm Phaze V, but its extremely low RG gives it a slightly rounder, safer motion through the midlane, making it less prone to over/under reactions than balls with a high RG.
On the Lanes
The Brunswick Attitude is an excellent choice for medium oil and typical house shot conditions. It shines particularly when the lane starts to change (transition) and stronger balls lose energy too early. Thanks to the quick-revving core, it offers a security that many shiny pearl balls lack: it doesn't simply slide through the breakpoint, but reliably builds traction as soon as it encounters friction. That makes it ideal if you want to open up the pocket and play bigger angles across the boards, but need a ball that stays predictable and delivers strong carry at the pin deck.
