First Impressions
The Brunswick Attitude Control, released in June 2022 as an addition to the Attitude series, is a specialized tool for difficult conditions. Visually it comes in a rich "Deep Red," giving it a serious, classic look. Technically, Brunswick went with an aggressive combination: at the center sits the symmetric Contra Core with a very low 2.474 RG and a substantial 0.047 differential (at 15 lbs). These strong core numbers are unusually high for urethane balls. The cover is a Urethane Pearl blend, though it isn't polished but finished with a coarse 500/1000 Siaair surface. The result is a ball that builds traction immediately and doesn't have to wait for dry boards to react.
Comparison
The inevitable comparison is the Hammer Purple Hammer. Here, though, the Attitude Control shows a different philosophy: with its extremely low RG value (2.474 vs. 2.58 on the Purple Hammer) it starts to roll considerably earlier and reads the heads more intensely. The Contra Core also generates more flare than the typical urethane core thanks to the higher differential (0.047). Compared to the Storm Pitch Black, which runs very straight and stable, the Attitude Control offers noticeably more overall hook and turns harder. It is essentially a "turbo urethane": it provides the typical smooth arc, but its strong engine carries more energy into the pocket than the weaker classics.
On the Lanes
The Attitude Control is the ideal solution for short oil patterns or situations with extreme friction on the outside boards. Its purpose is to tame backend motion massively. When reactive balls jump too unpredictably or the transition makes the lane hard to play, this ball provides security. It's especially perfect if you're speed-dominant and conventional urethane generates too little hook, letting your carry suffer: it delivers the necessary control but revs up early enough to mix the pins effectively.
