First Impressions
The Hammer Arson Low Flare Solid draws every eye with its deep, dark solid design. At the center works the modified symmetric Arson Low Flare core, which shows a medium RG of 2.530 and a very low differential. This core is wrapped in an extremely strong solid reactive coverstock finished with a matte surface. The medium RG keeps the core rotating steadily, which in combination with the rough cover should let the ball skid safely through the heads while still producing an extremely smooth, arcing benchmark reaction.
Comparison
Compared directly with the Hammer Arson High Flare, the Low Flare shows noticeably smoother ball motion, delivers drastically less traction at the breakpoint and a much rounder reaction at the end of the pattern. Against the Storm Pitch Blue, the Low Flare Solid offers a marginally stronger hook thanks to its reactive cover. When transition changes the lane and dry spots appear, the rough surface and the weak core keep the ball from overreacting uncontrollably at the breakpoint. Its reaction is absolutely forgiving.
On the Lanes
The Hammer Arson Low Flare Solid is most at home on extremely demanding short sport patterns or dry house lanes. It is an excellent option if you are looking for a smooth and predictable ball motion when the lanes get tough. The symmetric core creates a tiny, round angle at the breakpoint, which builds confidence when playing direct lines. The ball should secure carry through its consistent entry. On a lot of oil, however, it slides through completely without effect.
