First Impressions
The Ebonite Aero Dynamix in Sky/White/Navy has an appealing look without being too flashy. Technically it is built around the Aero Core with DOT technology and features the GSV-X Hybrid Reactive coverstock. The 15-pound model has an RG of 2.504 and a differential of 0.050. The surface is worked with 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair and polished with Crown Factory Compound. The Aero Core integrates both the "Drill Anywhere" DOT technology and DynamiCore technology for more hitting power at the pins.
Comparison
Compared to the Ebonite Omni Hybrid, the Aero Dynamix generates noticeably more overall hook with its GSV-X Hybrid cover than the Omni's GSV-2 Hybrid surface. The ball was developed as the perfect complement to the original Aero, with Ebonite this time designing the cover as a hybrid version of the GSV-X, which allows the ball to travel a bit farther down the lane before it reads. While the original Aero impresses with its very early ball motion, which works excellently on fresh and heavy oil patterns but shows weaknesses as the lanes break down, the Aero Dynamix solves exactly that problem. It represents an excellent option to step down from the Aero once the lanes begin to transition.
On the Lanes
The ball is said to be designed for medium to heavy oil conditions with a strong midlane and backend reaction. The out-of-box surface should give the bowler a balanced midlane read with consistent hitting power on the backend, which means bowlers of all styles can find a use for the Aero Dynamix. The GSV-X Hybrid cover digs into the oil a bit more and offers better hook and pin action on shots kept inside the target, though the ball can hook too much if it gets into the dry too early. The hybrid cover makes the Aero Core very usable on house shots, and with some surface work the ball also functions on sport patterns. The ball motion shows a later midlane read and angle creation on the backend.
