BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm Road Warrior presents itself as a worthy successor in Storm's legendary Road series. In an elegant Sapphire/Steel design with a striking green logo, this ball impresses not only visually but also brings technological innovation with it. With the advanced A.I. Core, a further development of the well-known Inverted F2 technology, the Road Warrior delivers impressive performance numbers: a radius of gyration (RG) of 2.55 in the 14–16 pound weight classes gives the ball the length it needs to glide through the heads without trouble. The Road Warrior is fitted with the brand-new R2S DEEP Pearl coverstock, an evolution of Storm's flagship formula developed specifically for controlled behavior on dry conditions. The Power Edge Polish surface provides optimal texture while at the same time creating the length needed for various oil conditions. As a special touch, the ball gives off a Peppermint Patty scent – an olfactory signature that continues the Storm tradition.

Comparison
The Road Warrior positions itself as a clear step forward from its predecessors. Compared to the original High Road Pearl, it shows a bit more strength through the midlane thanks to the R2S DEEP Pearl coverstock, while still preserving the characteristic length and explosive backend snap the High Road series is known for. Against the regular Road, which was designed as a hybrid version, the Road Warrior offers cleaner motion through the heads and a sharper change of direction on the backend. The pearl formulation makes it especially versatile across different lane conditions. In a direct comparison with Storm's Phase AI, the Road Warrior is noticeably longer and sharper on the backend, while against the Optimum Idol Pearl it shows a more controllable, less overreactive motion. The Road Warrior convinces with its ability to get through the heads cleanly without developing overly aggressive behavior on the backend – a balanced combination that sets it apart from many other pearl balls, which often react too strongly to friction.

On the Lanes
The Road Warrior reaches its full potential especially in the second half of a block, once the lanes have already gone through some transition. Thanks to its well-engineered balance between length and controlled backend reaction, it is very well suited to medium and heavy transition and burned-up conditions – perfect if you need a reliable option when stronger balls grab too early. The ball's motion pattern is remarkably consistent: it skids cleanly through the heads, begins to roll in the midlane and offers a powerful but controllable hook on the backend. The Road Warrior works particularly well if you can generate high axis rotation, since it complements those natural strengths ideally. But if you have low tilt, you'll also benefit from its ability not to roll out when it meets friction early. The ball is surprisingly versatile and can be used effectively by both one-handed and two-handed players, and it is especially valuable for the latter because it balances out their higher rev rates. On the lane condition spectrum, the Road Warrior performs best during transition through to burned-up conditions, and it provides exceptional carry through the pins. With its medium flare potential, medium-length hook shape and its ability to shine on light to medium oil conditions, the Road Warrior proves to be an indispensable tool for any advanced arsenal – especially when precision and control are called for on tougher lane conditions.
