BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Hammer 3-D Offset Assault comes in a striking red/cherry red design and continues the successful 3-D Offset series with impressive technical innovations. At the heart of that performance sits the proven High Rev Offset core, which delivers controlled dynamics through its specific weight distribution. With an RG of 2.489 (15 lbs), a differential of 0.053 and a slightly asymmetric value of 0.008, it provides the perfect balance between control and power. The real revolution, however, lies in the coverstock: the HK22-Cohesion hybrid reactive cover combines outstanding oil absorption with dynamic friction. The factory 500/1000/2000 Siaair Micro Pad surface produces aggressive but controllable friction behavior. The Cohesion additives in the coverstock create a distinctive responsiveness in the midlane with a powerful yet controllable continuation through the backend.

Comparison
Compared to its predecessors in the 3-D Offset line, the Assault offers more overall strength and a more dynamic reaction profile. While it retains the familiar arcing motion characteristic of the 3-D family, it shows a noticeably more pronounced midlane reaction and still stays continuously strong through the backend. Compared to the 3-D Offset Attack, the Assault generates more traction in the midlane and a less abrupt but more powerful overall motion. In a direct comparison with the Hammer Effect Tour, the Assault grabs earlier and creates a more continuous motion. This characteristic is similar to the Kinetic Cobalt, though the stronger coverstock with more surface makes it somewhat earlier and more controllable in its reaction. The ball positions itself perfectly between strongly reactive symmetrical balls like the Summit and clean, dynamic options like the Cobalt. The Cohesion technology gives the ball a unique property: it offers more room to the outside because it recovers better, while at the same time showing a strong midlane presence, which makes it especially versatile.

On the Lanes
The 3-D Offset Assault reaches its full potential on medium to heavy oil conditions and is particularly effective on fresh oil patterns. If you have medium speed and a medium rev rate, it offers the ideal balance of strength and control. Higher speeds and/or lower rev rates benefit from its strong midlane reaction, while higher rev rates and/or lower speeds benefit from its control and predictability. On medium oil the ball works best when played at a moderate angle, typically between the third and fourth arrow. As the transition progresses, however, it can move inside without any problem and maintains its continuous motion without "puking" or burning up too early. Interestingly, the 3-D Offset Assault also offers adjustment options: while the factory 2000 grit surface is ideal for medium to heavy oil conditions, a light polish can increase length and adapt the ball for lighter oil conditions or advanced transition, without losing the characteristic strong hook and the excellent carry. For bowlers with lower tilt the ball offers particular advantages, since it supports tilt retention down the length of the lane and allows a controlled but powerful finish – perfect for consistent results on a variety of lane conditions. The Hammer 3-D Offset Assault combines strength, aggressiveness and versatility in one package that performs on house shots as well as on sport patterns, justifying its place as a first-rate option in any arsenal.
