The 900 Global Cove comes in an unusual and eye-catching color combination of blue, sand and teal that recalls beach and ocean scenery. In person this color scheme looks considerably more appealing than in the online images and gives the ball a distinctive look that sets it apart from other bowling balls. Technically, the Cove is built on the symmetrical Magna A.I. core with AI technology, which carries an RG of 2.49 (15 lbs) and a differential of 0.044. Those numbers place it in the middle performance range of 900 Global's 800 series. The ball uses the new RB 85 Hybrid coverstock, a two-component hybrid blend that ships with a 4000-grit finish out of the box. Hardness is listed at 73, while the oil absorption rate is rated as medium. The Magna A.I. core with its innovative dual-hemisphere design should deliver exceptional consistency on the lane and was developed to produce one of the most continuous and stable ball reactions in the entire 900 Global lineup. That construction makes it particularly well suited to medium to heavy oil conditions.

Comparison
In direct comparisons with other symmetrical balls, the Cove shows characteristic differences from established models. Against the Storm IQ A.I. it reads somewhat earlier and offers more midlane traction, while at the same time providing less continuation through the pins. The IQ A.I. sits between the Cove and its sister ball, the Ember, rolling earlier than the Ember but creating more angle than the Cove. Compared to the SWAG Apex, the Cove is noticeably cleaner and more directional, whereas the Apex reacts harder to friction and shows a more angular character. The Columbia 300 Pulse proves considerably more controlled and smoother, but it needs more oil to perform at its best, while the Cove appears more versatile in application. The comparison with the Hammer Hammerhead is especially interesting, as it shows similar numbers but a slightly more aggressive reaction. The Cove, on the other hand, offers more margin for error and more predictability, which makes it a more dependable option across different playing situations.

On fresh conditions it could potentially react too angularly, while during transition and on slightly broken-down lanes it ought to show its strengths in full. The 4000-grit factory finish helps save energy for the back end. In terms of surface adjustments the ball is flexible: with added surface it can be tuned for an earlier and stronger reaction, while polishing increases length and allows a cleaner trip through the heads.
