BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The No Doubt Solid comes in a striking black, red, and purple color combination that gains particular clarity and color depth from the HK22C+ coverstock technology. At the center of the ball sits the proven No Doubt Symmetric core, which shows classic symmetric properties with a 2.485 RG and a 0.051 differential (15 lb). These numbers should allow for a predictable and controllable ball reaction. The technical highlight is the HK22C+ solid coverstock, a further development of the already well-known HK22 series. The "C+" stands for the Cohesion Additive, a friction-enhancing additive intended to increase the ball's responsiveness across varying lane conditions. Out of the box, the ball comes with a 500/1000/1500 Siaair surface plus Factory Compound, resulting in a polished surface measured at roughly 4700. This combination of an aggressive coverstock formulation and a polished surface may seem contradictory at first, but it follows the concept of maximizing length while still allowing strong backend reaction.

Comparison
Compared directly to the original No Doubt, clear differences in character emerge. Where the original No Doubt with its HK22 coverstock shows a longer and more angular motion pattern, the No Doubt Solid should offer more continuous hook and a stronger overall reaction thanks to the HK22C+ formulation. Test observations suggest that the Solid begins to react earlier despite the polished surface, and does so with a more even arc. Compared to other current solid reactive balls such as Brunswick's Ethos Solid, the No Doubt Solid proves less forgiving of mistakes. While HK22-free coverstocks like the one on the Ethos often provide a more even arc with more forgiveness, the HK22C+ formulation seems to lean toward quicker and more directional reactions. That trait could be an advantage if you're an experienced player who needs precise angle adjustments, while it may be challenging for less experienced bowlers.

On the Lanes
The No Doubt Solid will likely work best on medium to heavier oil patterns where both length and backend performance are needed. The factory polished surface should help it glide through the oil, while the aggressive coverstock formulation should produce a clear change of direction in the transition and on the backend. If you've already had good results with the original No Doubt, the Solid could be a sensible addition, since it should provide more overall hook on similar lane conditions. At the same time, test observations indicated that a surface adjustment with 1500- or 2000-grit pads could considerably increase the ball's versatility, as the earlier friction pickup allows for a more controllable ball reaction. Bowlers who typically prefer straighter lines and make moderate angle adjustments could match up especially well with the No Doubt Solid. Brunswick's DynamiCore technology should additionally deliver improved pin carry and a distinctive sound at impact. The HK22C+ coverstock technology makes this ball an option if you're specifically looking for modern reactive ball characteristics, but it should be chosen with the awareness that this technology often demands a more precise game than conventional coverstock formulations. For best results, a professional analysis of your individual game and lane conditions is recommended before purchase.
