First Impressions
The AMF Escape shows up in an eye-catching color combination of black, silver and red pearl. The heart of this model is the powerful asymmetric CFT Core, which is defined by a 2.480 RG and a strong 0.051 differential. The cover is the F80 Pearl Reactive coverstock, polished to a high gloss out of the box with a special nEat finish. The low RG gets the core revving up quickly, while the polished shell should let the ball glide through the heads with extreme ease. The design aims for maximum length and a massive, sharp hook in the backend.
Comparison
Compared to the AMF Great Escape with its strong solid cover, the regular Escape delivers noticeably more length through the boards and reacts much more angularly and directly at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Snap Lock, the AMF Escape creates a very similar asymmetric, hard-hitting motion. Once transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, the Escape benefits enormously from its pearl shell. It reads friction extremely precisely and translates it into an aggressive drive to the pocket.
On the Lanes
The AMF Escape finds its preferred territory on medium to slightly dried-up lane conditions. It's the logical choice if you have to play deeper lines on burned-up patterns and need a ball that slides through the dry heads without losing energy. The extremely quick reaction helps you play steep angles and still generate enough power for solid carry. On heavily oiled, fresh lanes, however, the polished surface simply lacks the necessary traction.
