BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The 900 Global Volt shows up in a striking sapphire blue look and marks a new era in the 900 Global lineup. At its heart is the Charged Symmetric Core with a high 2.56" RG and a medium 0.047" differential. The S72R Pearl reactive surface is polished to 1500 grit out of the box and uses a special catalyst formula that delivers noticeably stronger backend hook while still providing traction in oil. The Charged Core is based on the familiar Oloid shape from the Eon, but adds a flip block at the bottom, which allows dramatic direction changes at the breakpoint.
Comparison
The Volt delivers the strongest backend in the entire 900 Global product line, though the reaction shows up surprisingly smooth and controlled downlane rather than the hard snap you might expect. Compared directly to the solid version, the pearl cover clearly goes longer and is more responsive. The solid version generates more downlane motion than, for example, the Honey Badger Extreme Solid or Money Badger Tour. While the original Volt skids too far and doesn't have enough lane left to get back to the pocket, the solid version digs through the pattern in the midlane. The high RG characteristic provides exceptional length, while the moderate differential produces controlled but definite hook.
On the Lanes
The Volt is designed for medium lane conditions when a sharp direction change is wanted. It has proven successful on both dry and medium patterns, with the best results on medium conditions, where tweeners and strokers can play straighter angles. The polished surface allows effortless length to the breakpoint, while the absence of an outer core creates a higher coefficient of restitution and therefore more hitting power. The Volt comes into its own once the lanes go into transition and more angle is needed. If you're looking for a combination of length and controlled backend on medium oil volumes, the Volt offers a reliable option with genuinely surprising carry potential.
