BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The 900 Global Flux Pearl comes in an attractive orange pearl look and is the only factory-polished ball in 900 Global's current Tour Engineered 900 series. At its heart sits the proven Amplify Asymmetric core, which was already used in the original Flux. The technical specs show an RG of 2.55 for 15 pounds and a differential of .048. The intermediate differential is .014 for 15 pounds. The surface combines the S72R Pearl cover with the Amplify Asymmetric core construction and comes with a 1500 grit polished factory finish.
Comparison
Compared to other polished pearl balls, the Flux Pearl shows a different ball motion. The 1500 grit polished factory surface of the Flux Pearl doesn't travel as far down the lane as the Money Badger, Honey Badger Extreme Pearl or White Hot Badger. This earlier traction clearly sets it apart from other polished options in the 900 Global lineup. The ball uses a modified version of the successful S72R coverstock with the same base formulation as the S72 coverstock, though a catalyst was added that should noticeably improve backend performance. According to the manufacturer, the Flux Pearl should offer the strongest backend within the Tour Engineered line.
On the Lanes
The 900 Global Flux Pearl is ideally suited for medium lane conditions. That earlier traction helped this ball perform well on heavier oil and sport oil patterns, but all three testers found the Flux Pearl most effective on medium patterns. As a complement to the original Flux, the manufacturer recommends: use the Flux Pearl on medium conditions once your Flux hooks too much. The asymmetric core construction with 4-5 plus flare potential makes it a versatile choice for different player types. Thanks to the true 2-piece core construction, the Flux Pearl should raise overall COR and thereby deliver livelier pin action. The combination of early traction and strong backend should especially benefit bowlers looking for carry and versatility on medium oil patterns.
