First Impressions
The Track Proof Pearl arrives in a black Smoke Pearl color scheme and makes it visually clear right away that this is a pearl version of the successful Proof. At its heart sits DynamiCore technology, an industry-leading innovation in outer core technology that should provide less compression at impact and thereby increase hitting power, as well as deliver an unmistakable difference in sound and pin carry. Technically, the ball works with a 2.519 RG, a 0.052 differential and a 0.020 mass bias in the 15-pound weight. The Prime Response Pearl cover is finished with 500/1000 Siaair and polished with Crown Factory Compound. This combination of the asymmetric Proof Core and the Prime Response Pearl coverstock promises a strong midlane reaction with good continuation.
Comparison
Compared to the original Proof, the pearl version offers the same great reaction but is designed for medium oil conditions. The Proof Pearl is a close relative of the original Proof, yet it doesn't turn it from early hook into skid-flip; instead it creates a bit more natural length, which allows for more stored energy. The pearl formulation makes the shape somewhat "rounder" in the backend and more continuous. The Prime Response coverstock, already used in the successful Proof line, has established itself as one of the best pearl coverstocks. The Proof Pearl doesn't feel like an enormous drop in traction, so you can really lean on it when the original Proof feels too flat.
On the Lanes
The Proof Pearl is ideally suited to medium to medium-heavy oil conditions and offers a strong midlane read with good continuation. For many house bowlers, the Proof Pearl could well be the strong ball in the arsenal for medium oil volumes on typical house shots. With a slightly-above-medium speed reaction, it offers above-average angularity that still stays controllable. The ball should be especially suitable if you don't want the feeling of going from early hook to extreme length, and it provides a medium speed reaction with controllable angularity. Although the Prime Response Pearl still shows decent traction, it was definitely easier to handle than the original Proof. DynamiCore technology should additionally provide improved durability and better pin carry, which makes the ball a versatile option for a variety of player types.
