BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm IQ Tour Black was released in 2012 and comes in an elegant navy color scheme. The ball uses the symmetrical C3 Centripetal Control core with a low 0.029 differential in 15-pound balls. The cover is the proven R2S Solid Reactive coverstock with a 4000 Abralon factory finish. The specs show an RG of 2.49, placing the ball in the medium to low RG category and starting it into a roll correspondingly early. These specifications produce flare potential in the medium to high range. Comparison
The IQ Tour shows clear similarities to the Storm Special Agent, though with a more modern core construction. Compared to the Storm Virtual Gravity, the IQ Tour is less aggressive. Next to the IQ Tour Ruby, the original IQ Tour offers slightly less length but similar hook potential. The R2S Solid Reactive surface used here is considered one of the best coverstocks of the reactive resin era. The low differential clearly separates it from more aggressive Storm balls like the PhysiX or the Crux series, but makes it more controllable in critical situations. On the Lanes
The ball should perform best on medium to heavy oil patterns. The IQ Tour can be described as a "midlane" ball, since it is hard to throw through the breakpoint and reads the lane correctly. On the Kegel Turnpike pattern it showed excellent pocket control and created enough margin for error despite little hold and swing. For drier house conditions, applying Storm Step 2 Compound is recommended for additional length while maintaining breakpoint control. Players can successfully use both direct lines and wider angles. For tournament players it counts as an indispensable part of the arsenal, while bowlers with lower rev rates also benefit from its characteristics on classic wood lanes.
