BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm Match Solid, a central piece of the Hot Line in 2016, catches the eye with its two-tone shell in red and grey (listed in some places as red/black). Inside the ball works the symmetrical Stinger Core, which carries a 2.55 RG and a 0.030 differential (at 15 lbs). These numbers point to a controlled rotation that is designed for stability rather than maximum dynamics. The cover is made of the proven Reactor Solid Reactive coverstock, dulled at the factory with a 2000-grit Abralon finish. This combination ensures that the ball does not skid over the oil, but instead builds defined traction in the midlane without immediately "burning up."
Comparison
In a direct comparison with the Storm Match Pearl, its shiny counterpart, the Match Solid shows a distinctly earlier and rounder motion. While the Pearl skids through the heads and shows a sharp reaction at the breakpoint, the Solid offers a smooth, controllable arc to the pocket. Compared to the Storm Ride, its predecessor in this category, the Match Solid generates more overall hook and reads the lane earlier. Against a stronger benchmark ball like the Storm Phaze II, however, the Match Solid is considerably tamer and serves as an ideal "step down" when the Phaze II picks up too early and loses energy. It offers a similar level of safety as the Phaze II, but for drier conditions.
On the Lanes
The Storm Match Solid is the perfect weapon for light to medium oil as well as for lanes where the front part has already gotten a bit spotty. Its strength is control: it smooths out over-reacting backends (wet/dry conditions) and keeps the ball from jumping back too hard when you miss to the outside, or from skidding too long in the oil in the middle. It works excellently if you like to play the ball a little straighter or have to hold your line on drier conditions. When high-performance balls hook too much, the Match Solid brings the necessary calm into your game and secures carry through a stable entry angle.
