First Impressions
The Storm Sky-Road shows up in a solid blue and white hybrid color combination. The heart of this model is the symmetric Inverted Fe2 Technology Core, which features a 2.570 RG and a strong 0.046 differential. The cover is the grabby R2S Hybrid Reactive coverstock, finished at the factory with a 1500 grit polish. The high RG lets the core rev up very definitely, while the hybrid shell should keep the ball gliding very safely through the heads and still build massive traction.
Comparison
Compared to the Storm Hy-Road, which uses the identical cover and the same core, the Sky-Road is a color variation that delivers a nearly identical, stable and angular reaction at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Phaze, the Sky-Road creates a very similar, moderate motion on medium lanes with a defined hook at the end. Once the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, this ball is extremely effective. It uses the friction perfectly to react with power.
On the Lanes
The Storm Sky-Road finds its preferred territory on medium lane conditions. It is the perfect choice if you need a ball on broken-down patterns that slides easily through the heads and produces a steady hook toward the pocket. The hybrid reaction helps keep the ball from overshooting the breakpoint. The ball should secure carry through a clean entry angle. On very dry boards, however, this ball is often too strong.
