First Impressions
The Storm Hy-Road Solid Polished brings a striking black and red solid design to the lanes in a glossy Asian edition. Inside sits the hefty symmetric Inverted Fe2 Technology core with a 2.570 RG and a strong 0.046 differential. The cover is the R2S Solid Reactive, brought to a 1500 grit polished texture out of the box. Thanks to the high RG and the massive differential, the ball skids confidently through the front part of the lane and digs in at the breakpoint to deliver asymmetric-like numbers.

Comparison
Comparing the Hy-Road Solid Polished to the regular Hy-Road Solid, the polished version shows drastically less early traction and a far more angular overall reaction in the dry. Against a ball like the Storm Phaze II, the Hy-Road Solid Polished offers a very similar but longer hook thanks to its polished cover. When the transition changes the lane and friction increases, the smooth surface uses energy extremely well. It works very well on open lines.

On the Lanes
The Storm Hy-Road Solid Polished is most at home on medium lane conditions. It's an excellent option if you're looking for a dependable and extremely angular ball motion. The symmetric core produces an absolutely steady yet sharp move, which builds confidence when playing deep lines. The ball should secure carry through a powerful entry into the pocket. On extremely fresh oil it can sometimes slide through a bit too easily.
