First Impressions
The Storm Mega Byte turns every head with its eye-catching pearl design. Inside works the hefty asymmetric G2 Core with a 2.470 RG, a massive 0.058 differential and a strong intermediate differential. The cover is a pearl reactive shell brought to a heavily polished texture at the factory. Thanks to the very low RG and the massive differential, the ball skids through the front part of the lane under control and digs in extremely hard in the backend to generate maximum asymmetry.
Comparison
Comparing the Mega Byte to the Storm Sync, which uses a dull solid cover, the Mega Byte shows drastically less early traction and a far more angular overall reaction in the dry. Against a ball like the Storm Snap Lock, the Mega Byte's strong asymmetric design delivers a very similar massive, sharp hook. Once transition changes the lane and friction increases, the smooth surface makes extremely good use of the energy. It works very well on open lines.
On the Lanes
The Storm Mega Byte is most at home on medium to heavy lane conditions. It's an outstanding option if you're looking for a dependable and extremely strong, angular ball motion. The asymmetric core creates an absolutely sharp move, which builds confidence when playing deep lines. The ball should secure carry through an angular, powerful entry into the pocket. On extremely fresh oil it will inevitably miss the breakpoint.
