First Impressions
The Storm !Q Tour Pearl SLE (Special Limited Edition) shows up in an extremely bright gold pearl color combination. The heart of this model is the symmetrical C³ Centripetal Control Core, which features a 2.490 RG and a low 0.029 differential. The cover is the tacky yet polished R2S Pearl Reactive coverstock, brought to a high shine out of the box with a 1500 grit polished finish. The low RG lets the core rev up in defined fashion, while the polished cover should keep the ball gliding very safely through the heads and still building predictable energy.
Comparison
Compared to the regular Storm IQ Tour Pearl, the SLE version offers an even more stable, steadier skid phase. Against the Storm Match Pearl, the IQ Tour Pearl SLE produces a very similar, moderate motion on medium lanes with a steady hook on the back end. As soon as the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, this ball is extremely effective. It uses the friction perfectly to react with authority without overreacting at the breakpoint.
On the Lanes
The Storm !Q Tour Pearl SLE finds its preferred home on medium lane conditions. It's the perfect choice if you need a ball on broken-down patterns that slides easily through the heads and produces a steady hook toward the pocket. The pearl reaction helps keep you from overthrowing the breakpoint. The ball should secure carry through a clean entry angle. On extremely heavy oil patterns, however, this ball is often too weak.
