The Roto Grip Hyper Cell Fused was introduced in January 2018 as a dynamic extension of the legendary Cell series and stands out with a striking color combination of black, white and gold. At the heart of this ball sits the proven asymmetric Nucleus core, known for years for its consistent and powerful performance. With a low RG of 2.52, a high differential of 0.056 and an intermediate differential of 0.019 at 15 pounds, the core is designed to generate strong rotational energy. The technological highlight is the e-Trax-H18 hybrid coverstock, which was used for the first time on this model. The ball comes with a 1500-grit polished finish, giving it a glossy surface and promising a clean skid phase through the heads without losing the midlane presence typical of the Cell series.
Comparison Compared to the Roto Grip Hyper Cell Skid, the Hyper Cell Fused offers noticeably improved traction in oil thanks to the new e-Trax-H18 hybrid shell, without sacrificing the violent backend reaction. Where the Skid sometimes overshot the mark, the Fused shows a more controlled but still extremely powerful move at the breakpoint. Placed next to the Storm Phaze II, it becomes clear that the Hyper Cell Fused makes a considerably more aggressive change of direction thanks to its asymmetric core, and can cover more boards overall when the front part of the lane provides enough oil. Compared to the Roto Grip No Rules Pearl, the Hyper Cell Fused offers a rounder and more readable motion through the midlane, which makes it more versatile. Compared to the original Hyper Cell (solid), the Fused version skids noticeably farther through the heads and stores more energy for a steeper entry angle into the pocket.
On the Lanes The Roto Grip Hyper Cell Fused is designed as a high-performance ball for medium to heavy oil conditions and shines especially when you're looking for a combination of midlane control and backend snap. Thanks to the hybrid cover, it should have the ability to read the oil in the middle of the lane, while the polished finish guarantees enough length to keep it from reacting too early. It's the ideal choice if you like to play the ball deep from the inside out and expect an explosive reaction once it contacts friction. On a typical house shot (THS), the Hyper Cell Fused allows an aggressive game, with the asymmetric Nucleus core helping to ensure excellent carry even at big angles. Once the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, the ball stays stable, but under extreme conditions it should be swapped for a weaker option to avoid rolling out too early.
