First Impressions
The Roto Grip Outcry stands out with its classy blue and light blue hybrid design. At its center works the proven symmetric Late Roll 46 core, which shows a medium RG of 2.530 and a moderate differential of 0.038. This core is wrapped in the 53M Hybrid Reactive coverstock, finished at 4000 grit Abralon. The medium RG lets the core rotate very definitely, which in combination with the lightly scuffed hybrid cover should make the ball glide very safely through the heads and create a steady, controllable motion in the midlane.
Comparison
Compared directly to the Roto Grip Scream, which uses a pearl cover, the Outcry grabs noticeably earlier thanks to its solid content and offers a substantially more stable, steadier reaction at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Phaze II, the Outcry is somewhat weaker, but delivers a very similar, moderate and predictable change of direction. When the transition sets in over the course of play and friction on the outside boards increases, the hybrid cover stores energy steadily.
On the Lanes
The Roto Grip Outcry was developed specifically for use on light to medium lane conditions. It lets you generate the hook you need to cross boards effectively even on dry patterns. The symmetric core should optimize carry through a steady, predictable entry angle into the pocket. For extremely heavy oil, however, this ball is not suited; it doesn't use up its energy properly and slides through.
