BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Radical The Spy shows up in a striking red-and-black color scheme and was introduced in June 2021 as an unusual combination of polyester cover and asymmetric core. The release date was set for June 17, 2021, and The Spy is a polyester coverstock ball with an asymmetric core inside. The Spy carries a medium RG of 2.51 with a strong differential of 0.053 and a medium intermediate differential of 0.017. The textured polyester surface is sanded with 500/1000 Siaair and polished with Crown Factory Compound as well as Crown Factory Polish. The ball features Brunswick's innovative DynamiCore Outer Core technology, which promises less compression at impact and therefore increased hitting power.
Comparison
Users report that this ball reminds them of the Columbia Yellow Dot, but that it hits considerably harder. In its behavior it is said to closely resemble a urethane ball. With its polyester cover, the Incognito core and DynamiCore, it is supposed to hit like a truck. Unlike traditional spare balls without a core, The Spy offers additional backend reaction thanks to its asymmetric core construction. Radical did something radical by wrapping the high-performance, asymmetric Incognito core in a textured plastic/polyester surface. This combination sets it clearly apart from conventional polyester balls such as the Storm Ice or Hammer Black Widow Spare, which come with symmetric or pancake-style cores.
On the Lanes
The Spy is designed for very light oil conditions and is the perfect choice when other balls hook too much, or as a first ball out of the bag on light oil patterns. They call it The Spy because it's sneaky good — it offers the length of a polyester ball with an extra kick from the core. If you have low ball speed and play dry lanes, it should be an excellent addition, since it doesn't jump off the spot in the backend the way even the weakest pearl ball does, while still providing enough length through the heads. If you have a high rev rate, you'll have no trouble getting this ball to move on a fresh house shot. Low-speed players in particular, who struggle with dry lanes and find that everything hooks too much, will benefit from this ball. It's perfect for keeping your angles closed on dry lanes, or to some degree on fresh light-to-medium patterns as well, depending on your individual rev rate. On dry lanes or burned-up conditions, you should be able to move left with this ball without being disappointed.
