First Impressions
The Radical Ridiculous Asym draws plenty of attention with its bold red and black solid design. Inside works a modified asymmetric core with a 2.540 RG, a strong 0.050 differential and a 0.009 intermediate differential. For the cover, Radical relies on an aggressive solid reactive coverstock, sanded out of the box to 500 and 4000 Siaair. This combination of a slightly delayed core and a traction-heavy cover should let the ball glide very safely through the heads while still delivering an extremely strong, asymmetric and hard-hitting change of direction at the breakpoint.
Comparison
Compared to the symmetric Radical Ridiculous, the Asym version shows a noticeably more angular hook and a considerably more dominant reaction at the breakpoint thanks to its asymmetric core. Against the Storm Phaze II, the Ridiculous Asym offers a bit more length due to its higher RG, but builds a stronger angle through the asymmetry. When transition changes the lane and dry spots appear, the cover of the Ridiculous Asym uses the friction to create a powerful move. It works very well on heavier house patterns.
On the Lanes
The Radical Ridiculous Asym is most at home on medium to heavy lane conditions. It's an excellent option if you're looking for a dependable, strong ball motion when the lanes have fresh oil. The asymmetric core creates a strong move at the breakpoint, which builds confidence when playing deeper lines. The ball should secure carry through an optimal, steep entry into the pocket. On heavily dried-up patterns, however, it burns up its energy too early.
