First Impressions
The Motiv Jackal brings a striking black and red solid design to the lane. Inside, the hefty asymmetric Predator core works with a 2.460 RG, a massive 0.054 differential and an intermediate differential of 0.015. The cover is the Turmoil HFS Solid Reactive coverstock, brought to an extremely tacky texture out of the box with a 3000 grit LSS finish. Thanks to the very low RG and the massive differential, the ball hardly skids through the front part of the lane and instead digs in extremely early to generate maximum traction.
Comparison
Comparing the original Jackal with the Motiv Jackal Carnage, the first Jackal shows drastically more traction, but the Carnage goes one step further in terms of midlane dominance. Against a ball like the Storm Alpha Crux, the Jackal's strong differential produces a very similar, massive and steady asymmetric hook. Once the transition changes the lane and friction increases, the Jackal's aggressive surface burns up energy extremely fast. It works very well on massive oil volumes.
On the Lanes
The Motiv Jackal is most at home on the heaviest lane conditions. It's an excellent option if you're looking for reliable and extremely strong ball motion. The asymmetric core creates an absolutely predictable, heavy motion, which builds confidence when playing direct lines in deep oil. The ball should ensure carry through a consistent, powerful entry into the pocket. On dried-up patterns it inevitably misses the pins and burns up too early.
