BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Hammer Diesel Heavy Duty represents a historic piece of bowling history, as it is the very last ball produced at the famous bowling ball plant in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Visually, the ball comes in a striking color combination of brown and black. At its heart sits the symmetrical Diesel core, known in the bowling scene for its pin-plowing energy. Technically, the core carries a medium RG of 2.51" and a moderate differential of 0.046", which allows for nearly five inches of track flare. The cover is Hammer's Juiced Hybrid reactive coverstock with Carbon Fiber Outer Core technology. The ball ships out of the box with a 500/1000 Abralon polish.
Comparison
Compared to other balls in the Hammer lineup, the Diesel Heavy Duty positions itself as a powerful mid-performance ball for heavy oil conditions. The ball should make a great complement to the Rebel and Rebel Solid models. The Juiced Hybrid coverstock should deliver strong midlane and backend motion, while the Diesel core provides a delayed read and high flare on the backend. The carbon fiber reinforcement sets it apart from many other balls on the market and should provide maximum durability over extended use. This technology allows Hammer to grant an incredible three-year warranty. Compared to balls like the Storm Phaze II, the Diesel Heavy Duty offers a more aggressive midlane reaction while keeping the backend controlled.
On the Lanes
The Hammer Diesel Heavy Duty is ideally suited if you play on heavy lane conditions. With its combination of high RG and high differential, this ball gets started strong and still finds strong finishes in difficult situations. The ball should build strong midlane traction and continue its way straight through the pin deck. Power players and crankers in particular benefit from the aggressive coverstock technology, which should generate reliable friction even at high oil volumes. The Abralon polish with Powerhouse Factory Finish should conserve energy for the pin deck. Strokers can successfully send the ball out over the target boards, while high-hook players benefit from the controlled backend reaction. As a collector's ball for Hammer enthusiasts, it also represents a unique piece of American bowling history.
