BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Hammer Statement Solid, introduced as the foundation of the Statement line, is an absolute heavyweight for massive oil volumes. Visually the ball shows up in a dark combination of black, blue and purple that looks extremely dull and grabby thanks to the factory 500/2000 Abralon finish. Inside works the specially developed Statement Core. This asymmetric core delivers aggressive numbers at 15 lbs: a very low RG of 2.47 gets the rotation started extremely early, while the high differential of 0.054 and the intermediate differential of 0.015 guarantee massive flare potential. The real highlight, though, is the Aggression Solid CFI cover. CFI stands for Carbon Fiber Infused; Hammer has worked microscopic carbon fiber particles into the shell. This not only serves durability, it also provides a more solid energy transfer at the pin deck. The combination of the rough surface and the low-RG core signals immediately: this ball wants to create traction the moment it leaves your hand.
Comparison
Compared directly to the Hammer Statement Pearl (released in February 2019), the Solid behaves like the complete opposite. Where the Pearl glides through the heads and reacts aggressively at the end, the Statement Solid digs into the lane right away. It reads the oil much earlier and creates a smooth, heavy arc to the pocket instead of snapping on the backend. Set against the iconic Hammer Black Widow Black Gold, the Statement Solid works noticeably earlier and covers more boards over the full ball path. The Gas Mask Core of the Black Widow series often lets the ball skid longer and react more angularly, whereas the Statement Core is designed not to float in the oil. Against a Storm Proton PhysiX (which fills a similar "snow tire" role), the Statement Solid often offers a somewhat smoother move at the breakpoint, but comes across just as dominant in oil. It is substantially stronger than a Hammer Web Tour, which stands more for control on medium oil, while the Statement Solid delivers pure power for swampy conditions.
On the Lanes
The Hammer Statement Solid is clearly built for heavy oil and fresh sport patterns with high volume. It is the first ball you pull out of the bag when you're on a lane where other balls simply skid straight through. Thanks to the Aggression Solid CFI surface it needs hardly any help from you to build rotation; it digs through the thickest oil and offers enormous midlane stability. That makes it perfect if you throw the ball fast, or for situations where you have to break the lane down. Because of the carbon fiber technology the carry is excellent even on heavy hits, since the ball keeps the pins very low. As soon as the lane starts to dry up in transition, however, the ball will lose energy quickly and burn up before it gets to the pins. That's the moment to switch to the pearl or hybrid version.
