The Ebonite Stinger Pearl comes in the distinctive Plum Pearl look and pairs the medium RG/low differential Stinger core with the Detonator 2020 Pearl cover to create length with a strong backend on light or dry oil conditions. The specs show a 2.517 RG (15 pound ball) and a 0.035 differential (15 pound ball). The surface is sanded to 500 Siaair at the factory and then polished with Crown Factory Compound & Polish. The ball is meant to bring exceptional performance and value to the Ebonite line and fill performance gaps without stretching the budget.
Comparison
Ebonite markets the Stinger Pearl as the ideal partner to the Stinger Hybrid, forming a strong 1-2 combination for medium to dry lanes. Positioned in the lower to middle performance category, it offers performance at a lower price point with the new Stinger core technology, which in combination with the Detonator 2020 cover should deliver length with a strong backend on medium to light oil conditions. The symmetric Stinger core is meant to provide length with a powerful backend hook to drive through the pins. Compared to other Ebonite products, it rolls a bit later and hits very hard.
On the Lanes
This combination should generate excellent performance on medium to light oil conditions and will be appreciated by pros and league bowlers alike. The ball is particularly suited if you have slower ball speed or high revs on dried-up lane conditions. It will prove to be a great ball when the lanes are almost completely dried up or in high friction conditions. The ball turns hard at the breakpoint and can be used on many lane conditions, but it demands accurate shots. In inconsistent conditions the Stinger stays consistent, which makes it a dependable option.
