BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The DV8 Decree comes in a striking black/white/pink color combination and was released in August 2020. The specs show a Command Symmetric core with a 2.530 RG and a 0.043 differential, a core already used in the successful DV8 Turmoil series. The cover is the Composite Fang Solid reactive coverstock with a factory finish of 500/3000 Siaair Micro Pad. The Command core should provide medium to strong flare potential and thereby allow for a powerful ball reaction. The Decree is positioned as a mid-performance ball that's ready to assert some authority on the lanes.
Comparison
The Command core has a slightly higher RG and a somewhat higher differential than the original Turmoil Symmetric core from the first DV8 Turmoil balls. In practice, the Decree should be a good alternative to proven benchmark balls like the Hammer Vibe Orange, serving as the ball you start with or the one that tells you whether you should move to something stronger or weaker. Hook potential is rated at 15 out of 20, placing it clearly below the strongest options in the DV8 lineup. Compared to its pearl counterpart, the DV8 Decree Pearl — considered the perfect step down when the solid shows too much hook — the solid coverstock offers an earlier read and more continuous backend motion.
On the Lanes
The DV8 Decree is designed specifically for medium oil conditions and should deliver a strong reaction in the midlane and on the backend. On a fresh house shot, the ball shows continuous motion and power from a variety of angles and hand positions. Depending on the layout, different reaction characteristics can be achieved — from continuous to a sharper transition — which makes the ball versatile for different player types. It's best suited to most medium oil volume patterns on medium to shorter lane lengths. Even on less precise shots the ball reaction stays controllable — tugged shots still find their way to the pocket, and the ball doesn't give up energy on the drier boards. As a mid-performance option, it offers strong performance at an attractive price point.
